2. A 55 year old woman, presents with a fractured neck of femur after a fall whilst walking her dog. A DEXA scan reveals a T score of -2.0 and a Z score of -2.0. She has smoked 25 cigarettes/day since age 18.

 

 

3. A 45 year old woman, presents with a 1 month history of increasing pain in her thighs and hips. On examination these areas are found to be hot to touch. Blood results : Ca – 2.5 mmol/L, Pi – 0.9 mmol/L, PTH – 5.0 pmol/L, Mg – 0.80 mmol/L, ALP 900 (39-120).

 

 

4. A 45 year old woman, presents with a 1month history of increasing pain in her thighs and hips. LooserÕs zones are seen on X-ray.

 

 

5. A 40 year old woman who is taking corticosteroids for SLE and with a history of GORD which is being managed conservatively presents with a 1week history of vomiting, fatigue and abdominal pain. The pain has become more severe and in the last 24hours has localised to her left loin region. Her ECG shows a short Q-T interval.
